Snow and wind for the Northern Mountains
-Heavy Snow Warning remains in effect through 6am Thursday morning
-Wind Advisory until 4pm this afternoon

According to AAA of the Carolinas…you may be traveling over one of the worst bridges in North Carolina. Two bridges in Guilford County and one bridge in Winston-Salem have made the list of the worst bridges in our state. AAA of the Carolinas reporting that THE worst bridge in the Triad is located at the intersection of Business 40 and 85 (Spanning South Buffalo Creek) in Guilford County. That bridge was built in 1955. Traffic over that bridge is expected to decrease dramatically due to the opening last week of the Greensboro Western Urban Loop.

A 4.7 magnitude earthquake shook Great Britain early this morning …causing damage to buildings. At least one person was injured. The epicenter of the quake was located about 125 miles north of London.

An American aid worker who was kidnapped in Afghanistan is feared dead. 50-year old California native, Cyd Mizell taught English to high school students and job skills to women in Kandahar since 2005. The Asian Rural Life Development Foundation saying that Cyd and her Afghan driver were abducted in Kandahar on January 26th.

Power has been restored to most of the 3 million residents that were affected by the massive Black-out in South Florida yesterday. Authorities are trying to determine why an equipment failure and resulting fire at a power station led to the massive power outage. The power outage also led to an automatic shutdown of a major nuclear power plant

DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFULS HILLARY CLINTON AND BARACK OBAMA PARTICIPATED IN THEIR LAST DEBATE BEFORE NEXT TUESDAYS PRIMARIES IN FOUR STATES. Two of those states are delegate rich Texas and Ohio.

Starbucks Promises Customers Perfection A day after shutting down most of its U.S. shops for three hours to retrain baristas on espresso basics, Starbucks is welcoming customers back today with a new promise posted in stores: "Your drink should be perfect, every time. If not, let us know and we'll make it right."

A former postal worker and his wife have given $2.2 million dollars from their estate to establish the first endowed full-tuition scholarships at Guilford College. Recipients of the Frank and Eva Werner Scholarships will receive full tuition but students must maintain a 3.5 grade-point average. The first scholarships will be awarded during the 2008-09 academic year.
Frank Werner graduated from Guilford in 1934 with a bachelor's degree in economics. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years.
Ava Werner earned a bachelor's degree in English in 1933 and worked for Blue Bell for 17 years.
