Red Flag Warning for Central NC including the Triad
The National Weather Service saying No outdoor burning today

The space shuttle Atlantis is back in Florida. The shuttle landed around 9:07 this morning at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Grab your telescope or binoculars: Check out a total lunar eclipse starting around 10pm tonight. Unlike solar eclipses which require protective eyewear, lunar eclipses are safe to view with the naked eye. This will be the last total lunar eclipse until 2010. A lunar eclipse is when the moon passes through some part of Earth’s shadow.

The US Navy will attempt to shoot down a faulty spy satellite as soon as tonight. The 5,000-pound spy satellite malfunctioned immediately after launch in December 2006 and still has a full tank of fuel that NASA does not want to hit back on earth. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20080219/D8UTC8C80.html

A 7.5 magnitude earthquake shaking western Indonesia earlier today.
The U.S. Geological Survey issued a tsunami watch for the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

A school bus and several other vehicles crashed in Cottonwood, Minnesota on Tuesday, killing four students and injuring at least 14 others. Good news if you travel through Greensboro:
A 7.5-mile section of the Greensboro Urban Loop will open mid morning on Thursday. The latest section of the Greensboro Urban Loop runs from I-40 (east of Gallimore Dairy Road) to the I-85 Bypass. The NC Department of Transportation has set up a website to help motorists including maps. www.ncdot.org/projects/greensborourbanloop
