Time is running out: President Obama is poised to rescind the Conscience Clause. The Conscience Clause was implemented by President George W. Bush (through Executive Order) to give physicians and nurses the choice to act according to their conscience — to not participate in abortion procedures if it conflicts with their personal convictions and individual beliefs. By reversing the Conscience Clause, pro-life doctors and nurses will be forced into performing abortion procedures.

NEW: Time Warner Cable has made the Triad a test market for metered Internet service — a plan to monitor customers’ broadband data use and charge heavy users extra fees. There will be a three-month “education process” before the pricing shift, Time Warner said. NEW: First Community Bank, based in Bluefield, Virginia, has agreed to purchase TriStone Bank for an estimated $10 million dollars. TriStone Bank is based in Winston-Salem and operates two branches in the city. First Community Bank operates 59 locations in North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, South Carolina and Tennessee. First Community is also the parent company of GreenPoint Insurance Group based in High Point.

World leaders attending the G-20 summit promising $1 Trillion dollars to help nations during the struggling global economy. PRESIDENT OBAMA TODAY IS ATTENDING A NATO SUMMIT AT THE FRENCH-GERMAN BORDER. The president is seeking support from NATO allies for the new U.S. policy in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Additional layoffs at the Dell computer assembly plant in Forsyth County. But the company has refused to say how many jobs will be eliminated. Winston-Salem officials were informed of the layoffs but no details were given.

The state Senate voting to require mo-ped users to get a license plate, carry liability insurance and wear a helmet. Supporters said requiring insurance will make mo-ped operators responsible for their actions. A final Senate vote is set for next week.

A judge has rejected Madonna's request to adopt a second child from Malawi because of a requirement that prospective parents live in the southern African nation for at least 18 months. Madonna's efforts to adopt 3-year-old "Mercy" James has drawn criticism from some activists who said the little girl would be best off with relatives. The 50-year-old pop superstar will likely appeal the ruling.
