The latest budget proposal for the Guilford County school system includes 153 job cuts and $21.8 million dollars in funding cuts. Of the 153 proposed job cuts, 63 will come at the central office. Superintendent Mo Green saying that the proposed budget could change if the state gives the county more funding.

In Vermont, state lawmakers voted to override the governor's veto of a bill that legalizes same-gender marriages in the state. With Tuesday's vote, Vermont becomes the fourth state in the nation to allow same-gender marriage, following Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Iowa.

51 year old Victor Kiger, a member of the Lexington City Council died Monday night at Baptist Medical Center of a head injury he received late last week. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm tonight at Davidson Funeral Home (Lexington Chapel). A private graveside service will be held on Thursday.

The death toll continues to rise. Aftershocks are still being felt two days after a deadly earthquake hit central Italy on Monday. Rescuers pulled a 20-year old woman from the rubble on Tuesday evening after being trapped for 42 hours. A collective funeral for the victims has been planned for Good Friday.

A gunman opened fire at a remote Korean Christian retreat center last night, leaving one person dead and at least three people injured. The camp is located 85 miles southeast of Los Angeles
Details remain sketchy…a language barrier is slowing investigators.

Happy 115th Gertrude Baines! The world's oldest known person celebrated her 115th birthday on Monday. Miss Gertrude Baines lives at a nursing home in L.A (that’s California not Asheboro). She was born in Georgia in 1894. Baines has only two complaints:
She has arthritis in her knees. (Her visits from ARTHuR are not very fun)
And Baines doesn't like it when her bacon isn't cooked crispy enough.
