The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school board voting to NOT require that next year's seniors complete the NC Graduation Project. Earlier this month, the State Board of Education dropped the statewide requirement for the class of 2010…giving local school boards the option of going ahead on their own. The N.C. House is also considering a bill that would eliminate the project.

While some conservative organizations (including the American Family Association) are encouraging Christian parents to keep their children home from school in protest of this Friday’s “Day of Silence”…one conservative group is calling for a different approach.
Promoters of the Golden Rule Pledge say they believe Christians should lead by example: show up at school and live out the teaching of Christ to treat others as they want to be treated.. The Day of Silence (Friday, April 17th) is an annual homosexual rights awareness campaign targeting middle and high schools across the U.S.
On April 17, schools across America will observe the pro-homosexual "Day of Silence," which is sponsored by one of the largest homosexual-activist groups in the nation. The event encourages students to stay silent through the school day, and promotes and celebrates gay-activist causes.
