Democratic Senate leaders in Raleigh are proposing to raise class sizes in all grade levels as a way to save money in the next state budget. The average public school class size would increase by two students. Some officials say that the move would save $320 million dollars a year.

The body of 8-year-old Sandra Cantu was found in a suitcase submerged in a pond on a dairy farm near her California home. She went missing on March 27 Police have not identify a suspect, or released a cause of death. An autopsy is scheduled for later today.

A 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck just east of the Kuril Islands in the Pacific Ocean early Tuesday. Additional aftershocks have shaken central Italy earlier this morning.

US fighter jets were scrambled after the pilot of a stolen plane crossed into U.S. air-space yesterday afternoon. The plane was stolen from a Canadian flight school in Ontario. The pilot was arrested in southern Missouri.

THE NORTH DAKOTA STATE SENATE HAS REJECTED A SO-CALLED PERSONHOOD BILL. The measure would have granted personhood status to unborn children. Although the personhood measure was rejected…it passed other pro-life bills including a bill that requires abortion clinics to perform an ultrasound and make it available for the woman to view before the procedure.
