GM Corporation is recalling 1.5 million vehicles. The problem: drops of oil could fall into the exhaust system and cause a fire in the engine. The recall involves GM vehicles with a 3.8-liter, V6 engine. Some of the recalled vehicles are no longer in production.
FYI: The recall includes the 1998-1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue, the 1997-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix, 1997-2003 Buick Regal, and the 1998-2003 Chevrolet Lumina, Monte Carlo and Impala.

AMERICANS WITH FAMILY MEMBERS IN CUBA WILL NOW BE ALLOWED TO SEND MONEY AND TRAVEL TO THE COMMUNIST ISLAND NATION. The changes in U.S. policy announced yesterday by the White House do not include a total lifting of the 47-year old U.S. trade embargo against Cuba. However, the new policy does allow for U.S.-Cuban tele communications and fiber optics partnerships. It also expands the list of humanitarian items that can be sent to Cuba. Somali pirates have hijacked three more ships in the Gulf of Aden of the coast of Somalia. US Navy gunships will likely be sent to the Somali coastline in an effort to disable pirate "mother ships."
Radio and TV broadcaster Harry Kalas (the voice of the Philadelphia Phillies) collapsed and died in the broadcast booth right before the Phillies – Nationals game yesterday. Kalas was 73. Kalas was the voice of NFL Films. In addition to doing NFL games for Westwood One, he was also the voice of Notre Dame football. The Phillies won their second World Series title last fall.
