President Obama was on hand to honor the return of 18 fallen American soldiers and law enforcement personnel who lost their lives in Afghanistan this week. The President made the short trip to Dover Air Force Base around midnight. The military calls the process a ‘dignified transfer’, not a ceremony, because there is nothing to celebrate. The coffins were draped in US flags. The president is considering a request to send 40-thousand more troops to Afghanistan.
