Hanesbrands will stop hosiery production at its Weeks Plant by the end of 2010. 240 jobs will be eliminated. Consumer demand for sheer hosiery has been down for about 10 years.

Ham's Restaurants Inc has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Chapter 11 allows a business to stay open as it re-organizes. Ham’s operates 14 locations in North Carolina and Virginia.

Parts of Wyoming and Colorado are bracing for an early season snow storm. The storm could bring 12 to 18 inches of snow, as well as blizzard-like conditions, to the Cheyenne area through Thursday.

SAN FRANCISCO'S BAY BRIDGE HAS BEEN CLOSED INDEFINITELY. A piece of the bridge fell onto the roadway on Tuesday. The Bay Bridge just underwent a major repair last month. Local ferry services are gearing up for extra passengers. Authorities are allowing residents of nearby Treasure Island to use one of the bridge's onramps.
On a typical day, nearly 280 thousand vehicles cross the Bay Bridge, between San Francisco and Oakland, California.

SENATOR JOE LIEBERMAN SAYS HE WOULD BACK A GOP FILIBUSTER OF THE HEALTH CARE REFORM BILL SPONSORED BY SENATE MAJORITY LEADER HARRY REID. Lieberman says he opposes any health care bill that includes a government run insurance program. The Politico newspaper reports that confirms Reid is short of the 60 votes necessary to bring the legislation to a vote.

The two Northwest Airlines pilots who overshot their Minneapolis destination by 150 miles have been grounded ‘indefinitely’ unless the National Transportation Safety Board grants them a reprieve. The pilots have 10 days to appeal.

No launch yesterday maybe this morning. NASA is preparing to launch its next-generation rocket this morning 8 a.m. from Kennedy Space Center. The next launch window extends until noon. Ares I-X is a part of the Constellation Program. The program has been developing new vehicles to replace space shuttles, which will be phased out in 2010
