Extreme Makeover: Home Edition coming to the Triad in November
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (the ABC-45 show with Ty Pennington) is coming to the Triad to present one deserving family with an extreme home makeover. Thanks to Lexington builder Jason Hedrick (Hedrick Creative Building) for stopping by the Morning Show this morning. Jason and lots of his friends will oversee and implement the project that will make a miracle happen for ONE Triad family.
How You Can Help Volunteers are being separated into two categories:
Skilled Trade Volunteers and Non-Skilled Volunteers.

Traffic Problem in Guildford County: NB I-85 at Highway 62
Overturned tractor trailer at mile marker 118 near the GTCC / Groomtown Road Exit has I-85 shutdown at Hwy 62. Detour: Take I-85 NB to Highway 62/Liberty Road exit in Archdale and go east to Highway 220 north. Expect delays for several hours. An early morning wreck on the Highway 29 ramp to NB I-85 in Concord. Police say the driver of a cattle truck lost control and flipped over. The truck driver died on the scene. A passenger was taken to the hospital.

THE FBI SAYS IT HAS JUST WRAPPED UP A RECENT NATIONWIDE OPERATION THAT RESCUED 52 CHILDREN FROM PROSTITUTION. The three-day effort called ‘Operation Cross Country Four’ was carried out in 36 cities and led to the arrest of nearly seven hundred people. The FBI operation involved state and local law enforcement, as well as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The two pilots on that Northwest Flight from San Diego to Minneapolis-St. Paul that flew right past their destination last week are blaming the highly publicized mishap on their laptop.
Flight 188 flew 150 miles beyond their scheduled stop and the pilots had no communication with air traffic controllers for more than 90 minutes. Northwest says the pilots are suspended until the conclusion of the investigation.

THE PUBLIC OPTION HAS RETURNED TO THE HEALTH CARE REFORM DEBATE. The health care reform legislation that emerged from the Senate Finance Committee recently did not contain the so-called public option.

THE HEAD OF TURKEY'S POLICE INTELLIGENCE DEPARTMENT HAS REPORTEDLY BEEN REMOVED FROM HIS POST FOR NOT DOING ENOUGH TO PREVENT DEADLY VIOLENCE AGAINST CHRISTIANS IN THE COUNTRY. Authorities blame the man for failing to prevent the murders of three Christian men in the town of Ma-lat-ya and of a Christian newspaper editor in 2007. Compass Direct News

NASA IS CLOSELY WATCHING THE WEATHER THIS MORNING…IN PREPERATION OF THE LAUNCH OF THE WORLD'S LARGEST ROCKET. The 327-foot high rocket is the first new space vehicle that NASA has launched in more than 25 years.

A rockslide over the weekend in western North Carolina has closed Interstate 40.
The rockslide is located at mile marker 3, near the Tennessee State Line, in Haywood County, West of Asheville. The road is expected to be closed for several weeks.
Detour: If you are traveling on I-40 West: use I-240 West, to I-26 West out of Asheville, to Johnson City, TN, then take I-81 South back to I-40.
