Several cities including Greensboro, Pleasant Garden and Asheboro are holding Primary Elections today. Polls will remain open until 7:30 this evening.

If you use natural gas…expect to see significantly lower bills this winter. The reason: Increased supplies and decreased demand. A soldier from the Piedmont has been killed in Afghanistan. Army Reservist Private Alan Newton’s convoy was attacked by a suicide bomber last Friday. Newton was a 2002 graduate of Southwestern Randolph. He was 26-years-old.

Five dogs that were involved in the attack of a 5 year old child in Pinnacle two weeks ago were euthanized on Monday. According to officials with Surry County Animal Control, the dogs were euthanized after the owner couldn't afford to build a structure to keep the dogs contained.

THE WEATHER HAS BEEN HELPING FIREFIGHTERS BATTLING A 78 HUNDRED-ACRE WILDFIRE IN SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA. The so-called Sheep Fire is now 30% contained. The flames are burning about 40 miles northeast of downtown LA.

After their performance Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, the members of the band U2 were hungry. The News & Observer of Raleigh saying that Cooper's BBQ was about to close Saturday night when the band's private jet services coordinator called, asking for enough food for 25 people including: barbecue, pork rinds, five fried chickens, pig skins, ribs, cole slaw, hush puppies. Owners Debbie and Randy Holt said yes to the special order…but they don't take credit cards. Cash only. The bill came out to $277 dollars. Debbie Holt and her 14-year-old daughter, Ashley, delivered the food to U2's private jet at Raleigh-Durham International Airport around 11pm Saturday night.
